Let’s talk home interior…
Last week I covered all the tasks that should be completed on the exterior of your home to get it in tip top shape to sell (linked here). This week we are going to focus on the interior of your home. Whether you are selling your home or you just want to keep your interior up to date, this list assures you don’t miss a single essential steps. Feel free to pass on to a friend thinking of selling!
1. Before anything else, DECLUTTER
Remove all extra toys, clothes and furniture from bedrooms, closets, living rooms etc… and donate what you no longer need! One person’s junk is another’s treasure!
2. Check on all the little things
Do doorknobs or outlet covers need to be replaced? Leaking/dripping faucets?
3. Next up, light fixtures
Are there any light bulbs or fixtures that need to be replaced or fixed? Lighting is crucial to set mood and keep things looking bright and homey. Make sure there isn’t a single bulb out.
4. Paint touch-up
This could be a full paint job or doing any patchwork on paint damage. Don’t forget the baseboards. A fresh coat of paint can make a huge difference.
5. Carpet is a huge eye sore if it is damaged or extremely worn
Replace any carpets that may need it. Or can you make do with a good deep shampooing for a refresh? It is actually amazing what a difference a carpet shampoo can make.
6. Windows
Wash all windows and window seals and check to make sure all screens are in good shape!
7. Overall deep clean and add some scent boosters to each room to give a cohesive fresh smell to your home!
YOU DID IT! Your home is ready to go on the market!
