San Diego’s downtown is the heartbeat of the city. This thriving urban center offers tons of activities, dining, and cultural attractions. Downtown and the Gaslamp Quarter are home to the hottest nightlife scene on the west coast. The Gaslamp Quarters is full of trendy nightclubs, rooftop bars, gastropubs, and fine dining. Plus, all of this is very accessible by foot or biking.
Downtown San Diego is also full of cultural attractions like the USS Midway Museum, the Star of India, and Petco Park (home of the San Diego Padres). During the day, families can enjoy The New Children’s Museum or the waterfront Embarcadero, which hugs the San Diego Bay.
If you’re wanting more flavor, Downtown San Diego is also home to Little Italy, where you can find authentic Italian fare or hit up one of the celebrity chef restaurants located on Kettner Boulevard, known as “Top Chef Alley.” Or, just south of downtown is the vibrant East Village with its hip social scene, trendy craft beer bars and indie cafes. Finally, East of downtown is Barrio Logan, the epicenter of San Diego’s Hispanic community and a true look at the soul of San Diego’s art and food community.
